So… Eleven years ago I made a music video for a song I had written called “Pretty Girl”. At the time, I was making a lot of music but rarely performing live. My live act hadn’t been fully developed. I was playing acoustic guitar once a week in a Vancouver restaurant called “Ziggy’s”. I was in my first year of Art School at Emily Carr.
I met the director, Tobin Smith on the set of a film he was making. He was studying at Vancouver Film School. He had big aspirations of becoming a director. He had decided he liked my song “Pretty Girl” and said he’d like to make a music video for it. We got together with a few others and made this video in a studio at the film school.
I quite like it. I really like the effects and the editing.
Watch it and enjoy. This is really nothing like the music I am making now (It’s guitar and voice… no samples, keyboard lines or Eighties falsetto), but it’s another side to my music and one I think you might like.
